Hi, I’m Alvaro Etcheverry, a certified massage therapist, musician, and full-time anatomy nerd based in Basel.
I’m here to help you feel more at ease in your body, whether that means addressing chronic pain, recovering from an injury, or unwinding after a long day.
My approach blends traditional manual therapy techniques with modern, evidence-based practices, all delivered in a relaxed, friendly environment.
As a professional musician, I also offer specialized massage therapy for singers, instrumentalists, and conductors. These sessions are built around the physical realities of our craft, helping you stay resilient and keep doing what you love.
If you’re looking for massage therapy in Basel, check out the treatments below and book a session that fits your needs.

Drift off into a deep state of calmness with the help of long and slow gliding movements, light and quick strokes, soothing rocking motions, and joint mobilizations, all meant to to promote a state of deep rest and relaxation for your body and your mind. Allow your nervous system to take a break.
Great for stress, fatigue, or if you just want to slow down and recharge.
A deeply therapeutic experience that can aid in managing chronic pain, recovering from stress, and improving your mobility and comfort after an injury. This massage includes firm pressure, trigger point therapy, stretching, and joint mobilizations, always adapted to what feels right for your body that day.
Great if something feels painful, stuck, sore, or just off.
Playing, singing, and conducting are physically demanding, often involving long hours in the same position, repeating small movements, and doing it all under pressure. That combo can take a toll over time, contributing to pain, stiffness, tendon issues, and other symptoms that affect our performance and quality of life.
If you’re dealing with any of that, or just want to feel more balanced and resilient in your body, I offer personalized massage sessions informed by my own experiences as a professional musician. Together, we can explore ways to relieve tension, support recovery, and maybe even expand your movement diet, so your body feels more like home, on and off stage.

Yes, I’m ASCA-certified, so my massage therapy sessions may be reimbursable through your complementary insurance (Zusatzversicherung).
Please check with your provider in advance to confirm your coverage.
No need to prepare much, but please be considerate regarding personal hygiene.
If possible, please arrive without products on your skin – sunscreen, insect repellent, and some lotions can create an undesirable consistency when mixed with massage cream. Additionally, to ensure a pleasant experience for both you and me, please refrain from using any heavily scented products before your appointment.
There’s no need to shave before your massage.
If you’re looking to address general muscle tension, manage stress, or simply enjoy the benefits of regular massage, you’re welcome to book appointments at the studio as frequently as you’d like, based on your schedule and budget.
There’s no such thing as too often or too seldom. Massage therapy involves applying pressure and movement, both of which are beneficial to your nervous system and your trillions of cells, so your body will be happy to receive them at any time.
If you’re dealing with chronic pain or recovering from an injury, we’ll work together to develop a treatment plan that suits your individual needs. This will involve determining the frequency of your sessions based on your unique situation.
Even during an intense session, I aim to keep discomfort within tolerable limits. I do not agree with the “no pain, no gain” mentality for massage therapy, especially if you are dealing with chronic pain or sensitization.
I encourage you to communicate your pressure preferences openly, as well as any discomfort you may be experiencing during the session
You might feel lighter, more relaxed, or notice better movement in tight areas. Every body responds a bit differently.
Aside from the numerous potential benefits, there is always the possibility of some temporary side effects. Most commonly, this involves some potential soreness (similar to post-workout soreness), and fatigue.
If you have any concerns about these or any other potential side effects, please don’t hesitate to discuss them with me before your session.
I use a massage lotion made with avocado oil and shea butter. It’s formulated for sensitive skin and designed to minimize the risk of irritation or allergic reactions.
No added fragrances, no weird stuff, just smooth and skin-friendly.
I do my best to keep the studio at a temperature that feels good for most people (myself included).
The table can be heated if you’d like, and there’s a fan for warmer days. If you ever feel too hot or cold, just let me know, we’ll adjust it.
Some clients undress fully, others prefer to leave underwear on, either is totally fine. Certain underwear might limit direct access to a specific area (the hip muscles, for example).
You’ll always be properly draped during the session, and I’ll ask about your preference before we begin.
Currently, TOUCH consists of just me!
While I don’t offer side-by-side massages, you’re very welcome to book back-to-back sessions if you’d like to come together.
No, I don’t. If that’s what you’re looking for, I recommend searching specifically for tantric masseurs in your area.
